Exhibition / Multi-Channel Immersive Listening
À L’ÉCOUTE is the first curated retrospective of Soundwalk Collective, pioneers in immersive sound art, expanded cinema, and acoustic landscapes. Inspired by Jean-Luc Nancy’s essay À l’écoute, the exhibition frames listening as a radical, poetic, and political act. Spanning over two decades of creation, it brings together works developed across diverse global contexts and collaborations with artists such as Patti Smith, Jean-Luc Nancy, Willem Dafoe, Nan Goldin, Jim Jarmusch, Natalia Lafourcade, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Mulatu Astatke, and Philip Glass.
Rather than a conventional exhibition, it operates as a multi-channel installation with curated time-based programming: audiences enter barefoot and experience a vibrating “sound bed” within a space designed for deep, active listening—where the visitor’s body and attention become part of the work’s apparatus.
